For most clients, Medialister works on a prepayment basis: you top up your organization's balance, and we hold funds for each booking until the placement is published. Post-payment is a different mode designed for high-volume clients where you book first and pay later from a single consolidated invoice.
When post-payment is active for your organization, your balance can go negative up to an agreed credit limit (overdraft limit). At checkout, instead of requiring funds upfront, the system simply reserves the amount against this credit limit. You'll see your current balance—which may show as a negative number like –1,200.54$—right at the top of the checkout page, along with the credit limit available to you (for example, $50,000).
You can switch between Prepayment and Post-Payment modes at the top right of the checkout page at any time. Use prepayment for individual placements where you want funds held against a specific top-up, and post-payment for everyday booking work where you want to consolidate everything into one monthly invoice.
The booking flow itself becomes a single click. As long as your billing information is filled in and you have at least one payment method saved, you just press Book Now and the orders move into your campaigns immediately.
You're not charged at the moment of booking. Instead, every published placement accumulates against your credit limit throughout the month. Then, Medialister automatically charges your saved payment method 5 days before the end of the month. If the first attempt doesn't go through, we'll retry the charge and, if needed, fall back to another payment method you have connected to the organization. This is why we recommend keeping at least two valid payment methods on file. Once the charge succeeds, your negative balance is cleared and the credit limit is fully restored for the next month.
Post-payment isn't enabled by default. It requires a quick check on our side to confirm volumes, set the right credit limit for your organization, and align on invoicing terms.
To request activation, email us at [email protected] from an admin address on your organization. Include your organization name, the credit limit you'd like to discuss, and a rough sense of your expected monthly booking volume.
We'll come back to you with the credit limit we can offer, confirm the billing setup, and switch the feature on for your organization. From that point, the Prepayment / Post-Payment toggle will appear at the top of your checkout, and you can start using it right away.
